As the owner of an EBOOKSHOP specializing in HOME BUSINESS I have seen how each year more and more ebooks are written and sold often in large bundles. The prices have become more competitive specially on ebay where many are FREE or sold for a few cents! Many feel they can profit from the ease of ebook production and selling to make a quick buck! This is a sad state of affairs and I hope that it does not kill the ebook market as we already risk having info overload and too many poorly written or rehashed versions of ebooks.
How can the genuine and hard working internet marketing person or a home business profit from the boom in ebook writing and production? It can offer a specialist path to your success allowing you to focus on an interesting and challenging aspect of Internet Business. Just think of some of the options whether you fancy your writing skills or not:
- Find a niche market that is looking for information and answers to problems and needs and write an ebook that will help them and be of interest.
- If you are not very good at writing a complete ebook and the idea scares you why not put together a series of shorter reports that you can then assemble into a complete book?
- You can produce ebooks by either hiring a pro writer or modifying an existing ebook that you use as a base and rewrite it.
- There are so many article sites and ezines on all subjects that you could collate a series of articles on the same subject and form an ebook.
- Buy resell rights to ebooks and sell them yourself or give them away as part of another offer. You can also repackage them into a special offer.
- Set up your own ebookshop as I have and if you do not want to spend the time collecting and buying the books yourself you can buy a ready-made ebookshop that is updated frequently with new books.

So there are writers, ghost writers, rehashed and collated ebook ‘writers’, sellers, marketers, publishers and shop owners and consumers who may all be involved in the wonderful and changing world of ebook production and writing!
- Before you launch an ebook make sure you have all things in place and ready including a good cover design as that is a good selling aid.
- Also be sure to have had a good proofing done, a clear index and a readable format in short paras using highlights, bullet points etc.
- Be aware of the pirates who can copy and steal the ebook – though PDF is the most popular format it can also be copied and downloaded quite easily if you do not take the necessary security measures.
- Decide where you want to promote your ebook and if you want it to be widely available to affiliates or if you prefer selected JV partners or ebook specialist sellers.
- Various methods of pre-launch and pre-sell should be used such as articles, video summaries, squeeze pages with a short sales letter and intro to the book etc.
- If you are a seller or buyer beware of the vast bundles of ebooks running into the 1000’s that are given away or sold cheaply on places like ebay! Home Business on the net is a fast changing and challenging world so many ebooks on Internet Marketing become outdated (sometimes just after being written). This is why many are given away or sold in vast quantities as they can be useless and full of outdated info! Also who can read or organize 1000’s of ebooks in one lifetime?!
- Try to find good reviews or recommendations on FORUMS (like the Warrior Forum) before you pay for an ebook so you are sure it has useful information and is sold at a fair price.
